What 100 pieces is like
Every piece is large on screen, so you rarely need to zoom, and the picture is recognisable from the first few placements. Edge pieces are easy to spot and there are only about 36 of them, so most groups do the frame first and fill in from a corner.
Because it is over quickly, 100 pieces works well as a repeatable format: swap the picture, swap the shape, play again. It is also the size we recommend for phones – the pieces stay big enough to grab with a finger.
How long it takes
Typical times with the classic shape and rotation off, for a picture with a reasonable amount of detail:

Rotation adds around half again. The twisted shape adds more; square can double the time. Uniform pictures (sky, water, patterns) are slower than busy ones.
Which piece shape to pick
This is the size to try the harder shapes. Twisted is good fun at 100 pieces, and even square (no knobs) is doable in a group because the picture does most of the work. Rotation roughly adds half again to the time.
- Classic (Normal) – Traditional knobs and holes. Every piece has its own silhouette, so the shape helps you.
- Twisted (Hard) – Wobbly, uneven cuts and knobs of random size. Pieces look alike and edges do not line up neatly.
- Square (Brutal) – Straight cuts, no knobs at all. Only the picture tells you where a piece goes.
Tips
- Turn on rotation if you want a real challenge without a bigger board.
- Skip the frame-first habit: with this few pieces, grabbing by colour region is faster.

Questions
Is 100 pieces good for children?
Yes. Pieces are large and the puzzle ends quickly. Pick a busy picture (animals, cities) rather than a sky or a pattern, and leave rotation off.
Can I go smaller than 100?
The wizard offers 24 and 48 pieces as well, which are more like a warm-up than a puzzle.
